Our values and characteristics, as individuals and collectively as the Ocean Protocol team, are crucial to building our culture, brand and community. Here are the ten characteristics that we believe define the Ocean Protocol team and community. No characteristic is more important than another. They are complementary. Look at each of these values as essential to your success in the Ambassador Program and as a member of the Ocean Community.

Be Collaborative. This refers to your ability to navigate well around the challenges you might be facing. When confronted, do it with patience, imagination, flexibility, and professionalism. Don’t be afraid to ask for help.

Be Open. Tolerance is a tool that will broaden your horizons. Being open is about your willingness to listen to other people’s ideas and opinions, about considering that sometimes you might be wrong and others might be right, and most importantly, it’s about your ability to change your view and do what’s best for Ocean, to give credit to those whose ideas were more fitted or were right in the first place.

Be Inspirational. You play a part in ensuring Ocean Protocol is perceived as vibrant and innovative. We rely on you to keep its high degree of inclusiveness and creativity. “Be the change you want to see”, inspire by example.

Be Keen to Learn. This requires you to learn and develop your community and marketing skills, constantly. In a world of expanding marketing choices, it’s about your ability to be multilingual, to speak not only brand & community, but also every other discipline and medium available out there. That requires you to never stop learning.

Be Result-Driven. You are an articulate go-getter, who is willing to pick up projects and run with them until they finish off. And you make sure that whatever we do serves a purpose, it is measurable and attainable.

Have a Positive Attitude. We count on each of us to keep a positive light-hearted atmosphere where everyone can benefit from.

Be an active Listener. This is a master skill everyone can benefit from. One of the kindest things we can do with each other is to listen well. Good listening doesn’t just involve paying attention to what someone is saying, but to understand what is being said and the speaker’s perspective and rationale; be constructive and help steer the conversation to meet common objectives and goals.

Be Adaptive. You naturally work well with change, you can adapt on the go. You demonstrate a good capacity to solve problems in a creative and responsible manner.

Sense of Duty. You applied to take part of the Ocean Protocol Ambassador Program. Wear your badge proudly and execute your work with excellence. Always remember that your fellow Ambassador Program participants and the Ocean team are here to support and inspire you.
